Between the 8th and the 14th of September the second opportunity for organizing a World Orienteering Day event took place.
During World Orienteering Day in September 43 regions and/or countries around the world organised 333 events. The total number of participants was 53 014.
It was 10 more regions and/or countries than during May. All of them were small events with approximately 10 participants per event.
Even during World Orienteering Day in September Russia was the country that had most participants with 22 059 in total at 65 different events.
Lithuania increased the most with 4 816 participants during their events in September, comparing to 14 events in May.
