World Orienteering Day 2023 was organised, between the dates May 17th and May 23rd, any activity held could be registered as a World Orienteering Day event.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
In total 780 events were organised with 100 952 participants in 63 countries \/ regions around the world.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
This is an increase in the number of participants and events comparing to previous year. The total number of countries \/regions are the same.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Georgia and Pakistan joined World Orienteering Day for the first time.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Indonesia, Kyrgyzstan, Latvia, Malaysia, Singapore and Slovenia once again joined after some years away.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The figures for the participants various from at the most in Norway, 11 212 compared to South Africa with 10.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Finland had the biggest percentage increase for numbers of participants, from 145 to 3 908.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The highest change of numbers for participants was done by T\u00fcrkiye with 8 272 more participants during this year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
