We achieved more than expected thanks to a very big organization by several schools.&nbsp;We made a lot of communication through our regular channels: monthly club letters, \u201cCO\u2019mag\u201d the federal quarterly magazine, the news on our web site.&#8221;<\/em> <br>Val\u00e9rie continue: <em>&#8220;The federation is sponsoring the event by providing goodies. This year, we have given 200 Euro to 6 organizers (3 chosen for the quality of their organization by decision of the \u201cyouth\u201d commission, and 3 by draw) in the form of Purchase voucher in an orienteering equipment Salesman (20% discount).&#8221;<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"alignright is-resized\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/dev.worldorienteeringweek.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/03\/france-wod-3.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-3069\" width=\"220\" height=\"308\" srcset=\"https:\/\/worldorienteeringweek.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/03\/france-wod-3.jpg 622w, https:\/\/worldorienteeringweek.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/03\/france-wod-3-214x300.jpg 214w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 220px) 100vw, 220px\" \/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p><em>&#8220;We rely on our licensees, and the contact they have with schools, either because they are teachers or because they are children at school and want to organize a WOD&nbsp;event. In some cases, when we have conventions between club and school, it can support also the promotion of&nbsp;WOD&nbsp;event.&#8221;<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>&#8220;Unfortunately, we have no other specific financial support, nor any partner. We rely on our licensees, and the contact they have with schools, either because they are teachers or because they are children at school and want to organize a WOD&nbsp;event. In some cases, when we have conventions between club and school, it can support also the promotion of&nbsp;WOD&nbsp;event.&#8221;<\/em>, says  Val\u00e9rie.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>5000 participants in 2019 and 6000 participants in 2020.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The objectives for France for next years is quite high:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>&#8220;We think that the&nbsp;WOD&nbsp;is a great tool, because it is a way to get to know orienteering. It is a good pedagogic tool for teachers, so they enjoy the activity. The bad effect is that orienteering games of&nbsp;WOD&nbsp;are somewhat disconnected from orienteering as a \u201creal\u201d sport, with national teams and official competitions.&nbsp; Perhaps, we can add this dimension to the&nbsp;WOD&nbsp;with the sponsorship&nbsp;of young national teams?&#8221;<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"alignleft is-resized\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/dev.worldorienteeringweek.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/03\/france-wod-2.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-3068\" width=\"225\" height=\"316\" srcset=\"https:\/\/worldorienteeringweek.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/03\/france-wod-2.jpg 623w, https:\/\/worldorienteeringweek.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/03\/france-wod-2-213x300.jpg 213w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 225px) 100vw, 225px\" \/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p> Val\u00e9rie says: <em>&#8220;The fact that there is a whole week to perform the event is good for us.&#8221;<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Then, I am writing to you regarding\nour&nbsp;WOD&nbsp;promotion strategy. Please find attached some of\nour&nbsp;WOD&nbsp;communication for&nbsp;2018.
