Your home is a sport arena! Evelyn, a 3 year-old girl, is checking the map of the kitchen and has five checkpoints to find. In the city of Lidingö in Sweden, one a the smallest WOD events will be organised. Even young children at the age of 3 understand map reading and, whilst playing a fun game, can find checkpoints in the kitchen or in the apartment. The knowledge that children can read a map before they can read a book shows the potential of orienteering. We can therefore “organise events” together with our children and our pupils in very small areas e.g. an apartment, garden, multi-gym or in the schoolyard. You can always use your navigation skills wherever you are, and do orienteering!
